Trancoso - Bahia
25 kilometres to the south of the city.
This is a typical Jesuit community of The XVI Century. Until now, it preserves the original architecture.
In this sense, Troncoso is an important historic site; its infrastructure has been preserved, almost exactly, from the époque of the discovery of Brazil.
It possesses a 12 kilometre area of crystalline beaches and exuberant vegetation. The beaches are the most beautiful of the region.
These beaches are ideal for bathing, hikes and naturism because of the blue sea and the white sand.
Some people say that Troncoso was really discovered by hippies in the 70¨s. The tourist infrastructure is appropriated.
CARAIVA
Caraiva is situated to the south of Bahia, 65 kilometres from Porto Seguro. This is an ancient indigenous community belonged to The Tribe of Pataxó.
This location keeps its primitive beautifulness: the natural landscape, the inexistence of electric light, mail or telephone. These aspects give the city a special attractiveness for tourists.
To enter to Caraiva, it is necessary to travel in little canoes through The Caraiva River. Cars are not allow in this zone.
Principal beaches
Curuipe – The beach of Curuipe is located 20Km from Trancoso towards Cariaba, former village of fishers. Nowadays, it is one of the most famous villages of Brazil, its old fishers´ houses were completely remodeled by people who didn’t live in the village, making them glamorous but conserving its original characteristics. You will find good restaurants, bars and inns in this beach.
