This State extends itself over 270731 kilometers. It is also one of the smallest regions of Brazil.
Its estimated population was: 3.015.912 inhabitants.

Alagoas is a popular tourist point in the Brazilian coast. It has paradisiacal beaches with crystalline blue waters.

In fact, all along the littoral, the water changes its tonality from green to blue.

This State was one of the regions where Virgolino Ferreira da Silva, commonly known as "Lampiao", a famous personage, traversed with his band of ruffians. He was a kind of judge who imposed his own laws by scattering terror along the Brazilian north east.

In this State, Graciliano Ramos was born. He was the writer who painted, in a perfect way, the crude cyclical époque of sin the Brazilian north east.
From Maragogi to Paripueira: Visit the most beautiful beaches of the north coast of Halagaos.

In Paripueira language, it means “calm waters beaches” and is 27 Km away from Maceios. It has beauty beaches such as Praia de Sonho Verde that stands out by its beauty and infrastructure. The famous peixe-boi, endangered specie, lives in this ecological paradise. In the region, the Marine Municipal Park was founded which preserves the only peixe-boi in Latin America.

Maragogi Beach
Maragogi is the second popular place of the State of Halagaos, is placed between Maceio and Recife, the distance between them is 125Km. It is very popular by its natural beauties and long coconut plantations; the city is appropriated for taking a rest. Visitors will find several hotels, inns and restaurants, most of all near the beach.
