Ilha do Mel - Paraná

Ilha do Mel is an Atlantic forest, very well preserved.

It is located in the south littoral of Paraná. 95 kilometres from Curitiba.

It is an ecologic reserve, a biosphere that was named Human Patrimony. 90% of this territory is an environmental area of natural preservation.

It possesses 2.762 hectares, from which, 2.240 are an ecologic area.

It has, also, 28 kilometres of green areas and 12 beaches with fine white sand and a crystalline blue-green sea.

The most popular beaches for surfing are Grande and del Miguel. Other frequented beaches are de la Fortaleza, do For a, das Bicas and those from the region of The Faro.

Among the most interesting beaches, it is possible to mention:

De la Fortaleza In this place, The Fortress of N.S. de los Prazeres is situated. It is possible to observe there some constructions from that époque (1766).

Del Farol de las Conchas This was an antique deposit of merchandises.

Grande A recommended place for surfing.

Del MiguelThis is a solitary beach, surrounded by native vegetation and coasts. It is an ideal place for ecotourism.

Encantandas Another antique deposit of merchandises. It counts with restaurants and dwellings.
