Bage - Rio Grande do Sul
Bage, city well-known as the queen city of the frontier cities, borders on Rio Grande do Sul, is 60Km away from Uruguay, and connect having the shortest way between Porto Alegre and Montevideo. Because of its geographic situation, it had an important role in the state’s history, since the empire epoch. The Portuguese and Spanish people fought because of its lands. There, important facts like the Cisplatina War and Farroupilha Revolution happened.
What to visit in the city
Museum of Gravura Brasileira
It was inaugurated in June 21, 1977 and was administered by Tarcisio Taborda historian during several years. It has a collection with more than 870 works.

IMBA – Fine Arts Musical Museum
IMBA functions in theformer“Solar de la Sociedad Española”. The building construction began in 1890(the first stage was finished in 1905) and completely finished on May 26, 1929. Until 1934, the Spanish Society rented the Solar to a Commercial Club in order to collect resources for finishing the building.

Casa da Cultura Pedro Wayne
In the former days, a famous commercial firm, known as Casa Vermelha (red), functioned in this corner. It was inaugurated in 1902, was considered as one of the most prestigious and luxury ones of that epoch. It offered products for men, women and children, also perfumes, shoes, foodstuffs, and several imported products.

Nuestra Señora de Auxiliadora (Church)
It was inaugurated on May 24, 1929, and then totally finished during the 40s. In the initial draft, the school was yet built in the middle and the other installations would be placed as follow: the church on the left- where the chapel was placed in- and the theatre on the right; but the project was modified and the church was placed on the right.
