Caraguatatuba - São Paulo

180 kilometres from Sao Paulo. It is located between the cities of Ubatuba and Sao Sebatiao.

It contains 40 kilometres of beaches placed between The Juqueriquere River (Sao Sebastiao) and The Tabatinga River (Ubatuba).

The most popular beaches are: Martin de Sa, Prainha, Indaiá, Cocanha and Tabatinga; they are visited by local and foreign tourists in summer.

The ideal beaches for families´ holidays are Indaiá, Grande, Camaroeiro, Prainha, Cocanha and Tabatinga.

The beaches of Flexeiras and Palmeiras are recommended for walking and bathing.

Mococa Beach is very popular and suggested because of its medicinal sands. Such sand contains a monazitic composition that helps to the arthritis treatment (articulations inflammation).

Other nice place to visit:
The State Park of Sierra del Mar - Caraguatatuba Nucleus.


Beaches:

In the centre:

Do Centro Beach: An urbanized beach with a large bicycle road. Its water is calm and its sand is very clear. In summer time, many concerts and other musical shows take place.


To the north:

Martim de Sá Beach. This is the most popular beach which is mainly frequented by young people. In summer time, its walker zone is very crowd and illuminated. This beach has several kiosks and different activities for diversion. Its waves are very strong.

Brava Beach. It is perfect for surfing.

Massaguacu Beach. It is ideal for surfing too and fishing as well.

Cocanha Beach. It is placed between two small rivers. It is a seaport for small fishing boats. It has a very clear sand.

Tabatinga Beach. This beach has clean and calm water. It contains a fishermen community whose fishing boats moor near The Tamandúa Island.
