Ilha do Cardoso - São Paulo
This island belongs to the region of The Ribera Valley, an ancient gold territory.
This place is judged as a paradise.
It was turned into a Provincial Park in 1962, thanks to its enormous variety of plants and animals. A dense Atlantic virgin vegetation covers almost 90% of the island area.
This Park contains more than a hundred plant species, a reason why it is visited by biologists and scientists from different areas.
Its orography presents diverse landscapes: rocky coasts, islands, beaches, rivers, mountains, etc.
Some of the principal activities are fishing and tourism. Besides, it is the right place to practice swimming, immersions, surfing and trekking.
