Paraiba state has 3, 6 thousands of inhabitants, in 233 municipalities. Its capital is Joao Pessoa, has 700 thousand of inhabitants, and is a historical city founded in 1585.
The coast of Paraiba is one of the most beautiful ones of Brazil, has peaceful sand beaches and coconut trees. It form part of the named “Polígono das Secas”, the northeast region, where the caatinga vegetation grows up.
The beach of Ponto do Seixas in Joao Pessos is situated to the South American extreme east, where the sun comes out first.
Where to go:
Streetlamp of Cabo Branco: It is located in Ponta do Seixas, oriental extreme of the American Continent. From its viewpoint, the tourists will enjoy the wonderful Altlantic Ocean and the beauty coastal from Paraiba and its beautiful beaches, whose landscape views will be remembered by the visitors.
Valley of the dinosaurs: It has an area of more than 700Km2; they are approximately 30 localities, the most important ones where dinosaur’s footprints of more than 80 species in 20 levels are fossilized. The footprints vary from 5cm of an iguanadonte of 4 tons and 5 meters of height. Most of the footprints belong to carnivorous dinosaurs.
